P.R.A.I.S.E.-Our Core Values
Back to main menu
Prayer. All of our activities, plans, and programs are nothing if they have not been forged in fervent prayer. Prayer is the very foundation of our church and establishes our submission and utter dependence on God. We seek to ensure that prayer permeates our every endeavor and that prayer is taught and modeled throughout our church.
Relational. God is a relational Being and desires us to be in authentic relationship with Him and with one another. Genuine ministry flows out of relationship. We seek to encourage intimacy and relationship through small groups, social functions, and team ministry.
Accessible. We seek to remove any man-made obstacles to the unchurched by striving to be culturally relevant in our presentation of the gospel and in our service to others, while at the same time, honoring the historic traditions of the church, thereby providing us with a link to the past and a rich heritage for future generations.
Impassioned Evangelism. We believe that the primary purpose for the church's existence on earth is to reach out to unchurched people. Consequently, we believe that the church is blessed of God in order to be a blessing to the community around it. We are not to be a reservoir of God's blessing, but a channel through which God can bless the world. The church exists, not for itself, but for those outside who have not yet believed. We believe the church is to build bridges into the community and provide practical proof of Christianity's claims by living out the gospel in authenticity.
Servant Leadership. We believe that the Biblical model for leadership is neither authoritative nor manipulative. Servant leadership exists to equip the people who do the real work of ministry; thereby enabling us to realize our purpose and pursue our vision, in accordance with our core values. Servant leadership is built on a team model, working through consensus to hear and obey Jesus, the true Head of the church.
Encouragement. Hebrews 10:24 "And let us consider how to spur one another on toward love and good deeds." We seek to create an environment where people can try, fail and try again without condemnation or judgement. We believe that people learn more from failure than success; therefore, we want to celebrate attempts as well as success so that people have a safe place to discover their gifts and use their resources for God's glory.
